Role Context
The Land Surveyor - Field Survey will work as part of a survey crew supporting construction supervision activities on a major infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi Emirate. The role helps ensure that site works are accurately set out, checked, measured, documented, and delivered in accordance with approved drawings, project requirements, and required tolerances. By maintaining reliable survey records and coordinating with clients, contractors, engineers, and safety representatives, the surveyor contributes to efficient construction progress, utility protection, quality control, and accurate as-built documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Review drawings, technical documents, survey references, and project information related to assigned works.
* Supervise survey-related activities on site and support accurate execution of field survey requirements.
* Perform land surveys, field surveys, geodetic calculations, and measurement verification for infrastructure works.
* Interface with clients and contractors to determine, clarify, and verify project survey requirements.
* Complete survey tasks according to approved schedules, man-hour allocations, and cost control expectations.
* Check setting-out, levels, alignments, benchmarks, control points, and construction reference points.
* Verify service locations and support protection of existing utilities during construction activities.
* Prepare sketches, survey notes, calculations, and field records to support site works.
* Maintain survey information including field books, sketches, calculations, survey data, and measurement records.
* Measure completed works when required to support quantity verification, progress records, and site documentation.
* Assist in preparing as-built drawings and as-built survey information.
* Use CAD software, survey software, Total Station, data collectors, GPS equipment, and related survey tools.
* Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and site teams to resolve survey discrepancies or field constraints.
* Observe site safety procedures and remain committed to safe work practices during all survey activities.
* Participate positively in health and safety matters as required by the Resident Engineer and project Safety Representative.
* Maintain clear communication with management, staff, contractors, and project stakeholders.
* Support construction supervision for infrastructure, roads, utilities, and related civil works.
* Perform other responsibilities associated with land surveying as assigned by project leadership.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma, associate degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, roads, and utilities projects.
* Consultancy experience is preferred.
* Knowledge and practical experience using CAD software, survey software, Total Station, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
* Good oral and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to attend in-person interviews when required.
* Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry work procedures is preferred.
* Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management, staff, contractors, and project teams.
* Strong understanding of setting-out, level checks, field calculations, service location checks, and survey documentation.
