Role Context
The Land Surveyor - Infrastructure Survey supports accurate construction execution by carrying out field surveys, checking levels, verifying setting-out, maintaining survey records, and assisting with as-built documentation. The position plays an important role in protecting project quality, utility safety, site progress, and measurement accuracy by coordinating with clients, contractors, the Resident Engineer, project safety representatives, and site teams across infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform land surveys, field surveys, and geodetic calculations for assigned infrastructure project activities.
* Interface with clients and contractors to determine, clarify, and verify project survey requirements.
* Check setting-out, levels, alignments, control points, and site references against approved drawings and project requirements.
* Verify service locations and support protection of existing utilities during construction activities.
* Prepare field sketches, survey notes, calculations, and supporting records for site execution.
* Maintain complete survey information, including field books, sketches, calculations, measurements, and survey data.
* Measure completed works when required to support progress verification, quantity checks, and site records.
* Assist in preparing as-built drawings and as-built survey information.
* Use CAD software, survey software, Total Station, data collectors, GPS equipment, and other survey tools.
* Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and site teams to resolve survey-related discrepancies.
* Apply working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry work procedures during field activities.
* Observe project safety procedures and maintain strong commitment to safe work practices.
* Participate positively in health and safety matters as required by the Resident Engineer and project Safety Representative.
* Communicate clearly and logically with management, staff, contractors, and project stakeholders.
* Support infrastructure project delivery by ensuring survey work is accurate, timely, and properly documented.
* Perform other responsibilities associated with the Land Surveyor role as assigned by project leadership.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma, associate degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge and practical experience using CAD software, survey software, Total Station, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management, staff, contractors, and project teams.
* Strong commitment to safe work practices and site HSE requirements.
* Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry work procedures is preferred.
* DMT authority approvals are preferred.
* Good understanding of setting-out, level checks, geodetic calculations, service location verification, and as-built survey records.
* Organized, accurate, and able to maintain reliable survey documentation under active site conditions.
