Role Context
The Land Surveyor - Infrastructure will support Parsons by carrying out accurate survey activities as part of a field survey crew on infrastructure and utilities works. The role contributes to project quality, construction accuracy, and site safety by reviewing drawings, checking levels, verifying services locations, maintaining field records, preparing sketches, supporting as-built documentation, and coordinating survey requirements with clients and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Review drawings, technical documents, and work-related information before starting survey activities.
* Supervise survey-related works and support accurate field execution across infrastructure and utilities project areas.
* Perform land surveys, field surveys, setting-out works, level checks, and geodetic calculations.
* Coordinate with clients and contractors to determine, verify, and clarify project survey requirements.
* Complete assigned surveying tasks within approved schedules, man-hour plans, and cost requirements.
* Check setting-out points, levels, alignments, services locations, and site references to support construction accuracy.
* Ensure existing services and utilities are identified and protected during survey and construction activities.
* Prepare sketches, field notes, calculations, and supporting documents required for site survey work.
* Maintain complete survey records including field books, sketches, measurements, calculations, and survey data.
* Measure completed work when required and assist project teams with quantity or progress verification.
* Observe site safety procedures and support safe working practices during all field survey activities.
* Assist in preparing and checking as-built drawings based on verified field information.
* Participate positively in health and safety matters as directed by the Resident Engineer and project safety representative.
* Use CAD software, survey software, total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment for field and office survey tasks.
* Perform additional responsibilities related to surveying and site support when assigned by the project team.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or associate degree in Land Surveying or an equivalent discipline is required.
* Minimum 8 years of experience in infrastructure and utilities projects.
* At least 4 years of experience in a consultancy firm is required.
* Strong practical knowledge of land surveying, field surveying, setting-out, levels, geodetic calculations, and site measurements.
* Experience using CAD software, survey software, total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
* Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry work procedures will be preferred.
* Good oral and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to communicate clearly and logically with management, contractors, engineers, and site staff.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate survey records and field documentation.
* Commitment to safe work practices and site health and safety procedures.
* Ability to attend in-person interviews when required.
