Role Context
The Land Surveyor - Infrastructure will perform field surveying activities that support safe, accurate, and compliant construction delivery. The role helps project teams confirm lines, levels, coordinates, service locations, completed quantities, and as-built information in accordance with project drawings, specifications, survey procedures, and HSE requirements. By maintaining reliable survey records, sketches, field books, calculations, and equipment readiness, the position contributes directly to quality control, progress verification, utility protection, and successful infrastructure handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Review project drawings, specifications, survey documents, and work-related information before carrying out field activities.
* Perform land surveys, field surveys, setting-out works, level checks, and geodetic calculations for roads, utilities, and infrastructure works.
* Supervise and coordinate survey-related activities on site to support accurate construction execution.
* Interface with clients, contractors, engineers, and site teams to determine, verify, and complete project survey requirements.
* Complete assigned survey activities on schedule while supporting man-hour, productivity, and cost control requirements.
* Verify service locations and existing utility positions to help protect live infrastructure during construction.
* Operate Total Station, GPS equipment, levelling machines, data collectors, and other survey instruments accurately and safely.
* Maintain survey equipment in good working condition and report calibration, repair, or performance concerns when required.
* Prepare field sketches, survey notes, marked-up records, and supporting information for construction and verification activities.
* Maintain complete survey records including field books, sketches, measurements, coordinates, calculations, and survey data files.
* Measure completed works when required and support progress measurement, quantity verification, and payment-related records.
* Assist in preparing as-built drawings by collecting accurate field data and confirming final constructed positions.
* Use CAD software and survey software to process field data, prepare outputs, and support project documentation.
* Observe site safety procedures and follow all project HSE requirements during field surveying activities.
* Participate in safety requirements, hazard awareness, and safe access planning for survey work in active construction areas.
* Support construction supervision teams by providing accurate survey information for inspection, coordination, and issue resolution.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure, roads, and utilities projects.
* Strong hands-on experience using Total Station, GPS equipment, levelling machines, data collectors, CAD software, and survey software.
* Good understanding of field surveying, setting-out procedures, level checks, geodetic calculations, survey records, and as-built data collection.
* Practical knowledge of roads, utilities, construction layouts, service protection, and infrastructure project requirements.
* Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard industry work procedures is preferred.
* Consultancy or construction supervision experience is an advantage.
* Ability to prepare sketches, maintain field books, process survey data, and support quantity verification.
* Good written and spoken communication skills with the ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, and site teams.
* Safety-conscious field approach with attention to accuracy, equipment care, documentation quality, and construction schedule requirements.
