Key Responsibilities
* Perform topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for stormwater, microtunneling, pipelines, shafts, manholes, chambers, tunnels, and associated civil structures.
* Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, reference grids, and coordinate data in coordination with contractor survey teams.
* Review approved IFC drawings, alignment information, coordinate systems, and project requirements before survey execution.
* Check horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drive positions, breakthrough coordinates, and shaft locations before and during construction.
* Ensure setting-out activities follow approved method statements, calibration procedures, survey tolerances, and project QA/QC requirements.
* Conduct as-built surveys and verify contractor as-built drawings before submission.
* Monitor microtunneling drive alignment and breakthrough accuracy to confirm compliance with permitted tolerances.
* Maintain survey records, field books, digital data files, instrument logs, and supporting documentation with full traceability.
* Coordinate with contractors, supervision teams, and engineers to resolve survey discrepancies, deviations, and site constraints.
* Verify and certify survey results used for measurement sheets, interim payments, and progress verification.
* Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to provide updates on survey status, constraints, and required actions.
* Follow HSE requirements during field operations, especially within confined-space areas, deep shafts, and active construction zones.
* Calibrate, maintain, and check survey instruments including total stations, GPS equipment, digital levels, and related surveying tools.
* Support testing, commissioning, and handover stages by confirming final levels, coordinates, and as-built information.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in surveying and setting-out for infrastructure projects, especially stormwater drainage and microtunneling works.
* RTA approval and certification for microtunneling works is mandatory.
* Proven experience with deep pipelines, shaft construction, tunnel alignment monitoring, and utility infrastructure projects.
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, digital levels, and surveying software.
* Strong understanding of coordinate systems, datum control, benchmarks, vertical alignment verification, and survey tolerances.
* Familiar with RTA, DM, and DEWA standards for utility, drainage, and infrastructure works.
* Prior UAE experience, especially in Dubai authority-led infrastructure projects, will be highly valuable.
* Certification in surveying instruments and data management will be an advantage.
* Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary supervision team while maintaining accuracy, safety, and documentation discipline.
