Key Responsibilities
* Perform topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for stormwater drainage and microtunneling works, including pipelines, shafts, manholes, tunnels, chambers, and related civil structures.
* Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, reference grids, and coordinate records in coordination with contractor survey teams.
* Review approved IFC drawings, alignment data, coordinate systems, and project survey requirements to ensure full compliance with RTA and project standards.
* Check horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drive positions, shaft locations, and breakthrough coordinates before and during construction.
* Ensure all setting-out activities follow approved method statements, calibration requirements, QA/QC procedures, and project tolerances.
* Conduct as-built surveys and verify contractors’ as-built drawings before formal submission.
* Monitor microtunneling drive alignments and confirm that construction remains within allowable tolerances.
* Maintain accurate field books, survey records, digital files, control data, and traceable documentation for all survey operations.
* Coordinate with contractors, engineers, inspectors, and the supervision team to resolve survey discrepancies or site deviations.
* Verify and certify survey results for measurement sheets, interim payment records, progress verification, and construction documentation.
* Attend pre-construction and progress meetings to provide updates on survey status, constraints, alignment risks, and required actions.
* Ensure safe survey practices during field operations, especially around shafts, confined spaces, excavation areas, and active construction zones.
* Calibrate and maintain survey instruments, including total stations, GPS equipment, and digital levels, in line with project QA/QC procedures.
* Support testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out activities by verifying final levels, coordinates, and survey records.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in surveying and setting-out for infrastructure projects, especially stormwater drainage and microtunneling works.
* RTA approval and certification for microtunneling works is mandatory.
* Proven experience with deep pipeline works, shaft construction, tunnel alignment monitoring, pipe inverts, and breakthrough coordinate checks.
* Strong understanding of coordinate systems, datum control, control points, benchmarks, vertical alignment verification, and survey tolerances.
* Prior UAE experience is required, with strong familiarity with Dubai infrastructure procedures, RTA requirements, Dubai Municipality standards, and DEWA-related utility interfaces.
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, digital levels, and relevant surveying software.
* Certification in surveying instruments and data management is an advantage.
* Able to work independently while coordinating closely with contractors, supervision teams, engineers, and multidisciplinary project staff.
