The role covers both site and office activities, requiring precise field observations followed by careful processing, mapping, checking, and documentation. Particular attention will be given to regulatory compliance, measurement integrity, local surveying requirements, and effective coordination where site conditions create technical or operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out detailed land surveys and site assessments for water infrastructure and associated civil works.
* Establish accurate horizontal and vertical survey control using appropriate field equipment.
* Capture coordinates, elevations, existing features, and other project-critical measurements.
* Operate GPS and GNSS systems for precise positioning and field data acquisition.
* Use drone surveying applications where suitable for site mapping and broader data collection.
* Examine existing survey information before field activities and identify areas requiring additional verification.
* Process collected survey observations and convert raw measurements into usable engineering information.
* Analyze field data for discrepancies, anomalies, and potential measurement errors.
* Prepare accurate site maps, survey plans, technical drawings, and supporting documentation.
* Use AutoCAD to develop survey drawings required by engineering and construction teams.
* Apply GIS software for spatial information management, mapping, and analysis.
* Coordinate survey outputs with civil engineers to ensure compatibility with approved design requirements.
* Work with project managers and contractors when survey information affects construction sequencing or site execution.
* Confirm that field measurements correspond with project drawings, coordinates, levels, and specifications.
* Undertake independent quality checks before issuing survey information for project use.
