Role Summary
As Principal Engineer - Structures, you will take charge of planning, designing, and delivering technically challenging infrastructure projects, with a focus on bridges and tunnels. You will guide multidisciplinary teams and manage structural components to ensure safe, sustainable, and high-performance infrastructure across the UAE.
Core Duties
* Lead structural design and analysis of bridges and tunnels, including segmental, precast, steel, and conventional systems
* Oversee the full lifecycle of structural engineering projects from concept to construction supervision
* Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and quality compliance
* Utilize advanced structural software like SAP2000, ETABS, MIDAS, or CSI for modeling and simulation
* Provide peer review and technical approvals of design documents, calculations, and drawings
* Collaborate closely with architects, geotechnical, and transportation teams to integrate structural requirements
* Conduct site inspections to ensure construction adherence and resolve field issues
* Stay current with evolving codes, innovations in bridge engineering, and material technologies
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability building
* Ensure all deliverables comply with AASHTO, Eurocodes, or other international standards
Candidate Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
* 15+ years of experience in structural engineering with proven bridge and tunnel project history
* Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification preferred
* Strong command of seismic design and retrofitting approaches
* Proficiency in structural design tools and code-based engineering practices
* Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing technical teams
* Ability to manage large infrastructure projects within budget and timeline
