Parsons Corporation is hiring an experienced BIM and CAD professional to develop and coordinate engineering models and drawings, perform clash detection and resolution, manage project information within Common Data Environments, and deliver accurate infrastructure documentation in accordance with UAE authority requirements and international BIM standards.

Role Context
The Senior BIM-CAD Technician will provide advanced technical support across multiple infrastructure projects, with particular emphasis on wet and dry utility networks. Working alongside BIM management, Design Leads, engineers, and multidisciplinary CAD teams, the role will help transform engineering information into coordinated models and construction-ready design documentation.
Beyond drafting, the position carries responsibility for model coordination, clash management, LOD compliance, quantity extraction, design revisions, and digital information management. Accurate execution will help reduce design conflicts before construction, strengthen submission quality, and keep multidisciplinary infrastructure packages aligned with project schedules and authority requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the BIM-CAD Manager and Design Leads to implement project BIM policies, workflows, and delivery requirements.
* Develop detailed infrastructure engineering drawings and BIM models for wet and dry utility networks.
* Coordinate inputs from multiple CAD and engineering disciplines and highlight missing information or design conflicts early.
* Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D to prepare layouts, arrangements, assemblies, flow sheets, isometrics, component details, and related engineering documentation.
* Manage BIM activities through project startup, model development, coordination, submission, and final delivery stages.
* Work with BIM Leads and engineers to convert sketches and engineering information into accurate technical drawings and models.
* Perform model coordination and support clash detection, issue identification, and clash resolution using Navisworks.
* Review drawings for technical readability, presentation quality, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
* Apply project QA-QC procedures before drawings and models progress to formal submission.
* Develop parametric and non-parametric BIM families and other project-specific model content.
* Produce schedules, quantities, and model-based information required by engineering and project teams.
* Maintain appropriate Level of Development requirements throughout different design stages.
* Support utility pipe network modelling and coordinated infrastructure layout development.
* Prepare and review routing plans, right-of-way information, and infrastructure cross sections where required.
* Maintain accurate records of design modifications, model updates, drawing revisions, and submission changes.
* Manage digital archiving so completed models, drawings, and supporting documents remain organized and traceable.
* Use Common Data Environment workflows for controlled model production and information exchange.
* Support Autodesk Forma and Bentley ProjectWise environments in accordance with project information management requirements.
* Coordinate with engineers, discipline leads, and other departments to resolve technical discrepancies.
* Apply DEWA, DM, and RTA requirements when preparing and reviewing infrastructure utility information.
* Support model and drawing preparation in accordance with ISO 19650 principles where applicable.
* Customize CAD tools and working methods to improve drafting productivity and consistency.
* Identify design coordination problems and develop practical solutions before they create submission delays.
* Contribute to BIM training and knowledge sharing across project teams.
* Manage several design packages or project priorities while maintaining required deadlines and quality standards.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a bachelor\'s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering and bring at least 10 years of CAD drafting and BIM experience gained within the UAE or wider Middle East and Africa region.
The position requires substantial experience with wet and dry utility infrastructure, including at least three years of utility pipe network modelling.
Advanced practical capability in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Navisworks is required. Knowledge of MicroStation is preferred.
Candidates should understand BIM workflows from project initiation through final delivery, including model coordination, clash detection, issue management, model-based reviews, LOD requirements, schedules, and quantity extraction.
Strong experience working with Common Data Environments is important, including knowledge of Autodesk Forma and Bentley ProjectWise for controlled model production and information management.
Familiarity with DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and RTA standards is valuable for coordinating existing and proposed utility infrastructure in Dubai.
Knowledge of ISO 19650, right-of-way requirements, routing plans, cross sections, and infrastructure model preparation will further strengthen suitability for the position.
