Role Context
The Senior BIM Specialist - Infrastructure will support the design team by creating accurate BIM models, maintaining model quality, coordinating digital deliverables, and improving project information flow across multidisciplinary infrastructure teams. The role helps reduce design clashes, improve documentation accuracy, strengthen Common Data Environment compliance, and support more efficient design delivery through structured BIM standards, automation, data management, and practical digital engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, update, and maintain detailed BIM models for structural and infrastructure projects using approved project standards.
* Prepare BIM model content for bridges, tunnels, pump stations, civil structures, utilities, and related infrastructure design packages.
* Ensure all models comply with project requirements, BIM Execution Plans, client standards, naming conventions, data structures, and design coordination protocols.
* Perform model coordination, clash detection, quality reviews, and model health checks to identify conflicts, errors, and coordination gaps.
* Support Common Data Environment workflows and maintain model data accuracy, controlled information exchange, and compliant digital file management.
* Produce BIM deliverables, model-based drawings, extracted views, schedules, digital reports, and supporting project documentation.
* Coordinate with civil, structural, utilities, drainage, roads, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and digital delivery teams to support integrated design outputs.
* Review BIM models for geometry, data completeness, discipline coordination, constructability, and documentation consistency.
* Support BIM 360, ACC, ProjectWise, or similar CDE platforms to manage submissions, revisions, comments, approvals, and model coordination records.
* Use Dynamo and other automation methods to improve modelling productivity, data checking, repetitive task control, and model optimization.
* Provide technical guidance to junior BIM team members, helping improve modelling quality, workflow discipline, and software capability.
* Assist project teams with BIM standards, QA/QC checks, model troubleshooting, coordination meetings, and digital delivery requirements.
* Work within project schedules and manage complex modelling tasks without compromising accuracy, compliance, or coordination quality.
* Contribute to continuous improvement in BIM workflows, multidisciplinary coordination, automation practices, and design office delivery methods.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
* Minimum 10 years of BIM modelling experience, preferably on structural, civil, or infrastructure projects.
* Strong hands-on experience with Revit, BIM 360, ACC, Dynamo, and AutoCAD.
* Civil 3D knowledge is an advantage.
* Strong understanding of BIM standards, BIM Execution Plans, model coordination processes, QA/QC procedures, and CDE workflows.
* Experience working with Common Data Environment platforms such as ProjectWise or similar systems.
* Ability to manage complex BIM modelling tasks and deliver accurate outputs within project schedules.
* Background in major bridges, tunnels, pump stations, structural works, or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
* Experience in a design consultancy environment is preferred.
* BIM certification is an advantage.
* Good understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination, digital engineering workflows, model data management, and automation practices.
