Position Overview
As a Senior Cost Control Engineer, you will lead cost planning and forecasting across multiple large-scale projects. You will monitor project expenditures, establish and track budgets, perform earned value analysis, and ensure financial accountability across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. This role requires experience with international project controls and advanced Excel, Power BI, and cost-tracking systems.
Core Duties
* Set up and manage baseline budgets with accurate Work Breakdown Structures
* Analyze cost performance, forecast expenditures, and develop recovery actions for variances
* Generate weekly and monthly cost and resource reports for internal and client review
* Apply Earned Value Management principles for schedule and cost alignment
* Lead cost impact assessments related to design changes and construction slippage
* Support commercial and legal teams in managing variation claims and contract alignment
* Customize and maintain cost control tools, dashboards, and financial projections
* Conduct budget trend analysis and provide insight to project managers and stakeholders
* Prepare high-level presentations and executive summaries for leadership reviews
* Coordinate closely with finance, planning, and engineering teams for integrated reporting
* Mentor junior cost control staff and lead performance development initiatives
Candidate Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
* Minimum 10 years of experience in cost engineering within large-scale infrastructure or engineering projects
* Proven knowledge of budgeting, financial modeling, and cost control software
* Strong familiarity with project forecasting, resource tracking, and WBS creation
* Ability to analyze complex project data and communicate findings clearly
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; knowledge of planning tools is a plus
* Previous experience with multinational consultancies is an advantage
