The Senior Dry Utilities Engineer contributes to the development of integrated infrastructure networks where electrical supply, telecommunications, street lighting, and utility corridors must function alongside roads, wet utilities, transportation systems, landscaping, and buildings.
The role carries projects through multiple design stages, turning masterplan requirements into technically coordinated IFC solutions. Successful delivery depends on sound engineering calculations, efficient utility allocation, authority compliance, constructability, and early resolution of cross-discipline conflicts.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop dry utilities designs from concept masterplan through detailed design and IFC stages.
* Apply relevant Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and KSA authority guidelines and technical requirements throughout design development.
* Determine electrical infrastructure requirements for major transportation and urban development projects.
* Plan and coordinate primary substations within infrastructure masterplans.
* Develop EHV, HV, and LV corridor requirements while maintaining appropriate utility reservations and clearances.
* Design and coordinate HV distribution infrastructure up to 33kV.
* Develop LV network layouts and associated electrical calculations.
* Plan distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars, and service turrets according to development requirements.
* Assess network demand and prepare engineering calculations supporting proposed electrical infrastructure.
* Produce technical reports, design narratives, calculations, schedules, and engineering documentation.
* Design telecommunications infrastructure networks including duct routes and manholes.
* Incorporate telecommunications requirements into coordinated utility corridors.
* Assess infrastructure requirements associated with GSM tower coverage.
* Develop street lighting designs for different road classifications and rights-of-way.
* Perform lighting calculations and evaluate roadway illumination performance.
* Prepare single-line diagrams and electrical load schedules.
