The Senior Land Surveyor provides the
measurement control and spatial accuracy required for successful sewerage treatment plant and wastewater infrastructure delivery. Survey information directly influences site setting-out, structural positioning, underground utility coordination, levels, alignments, quantities, and verification of completed works.
The position combines field leadership with technical analysis. By maintaining accurate survey controls and quickly identifying discrepancies between site conditions and approved designs, the role helps engineering and construction teams reduce rework, protect programme targets, and maintain compliance with project requirements.
Close coordination with civil engineers, project managers, contractors, and other technical disciplines is essential because survey data forms a critical reference point throughout construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead land surveying activities for sewerage treatment plant, wastewater, and associated civil infrastructure projects.
* Conduct detailed topographic surveys, site assessments, setting-out operations, level checks, and construction verification.
* Establish and maintain accurate survey control points, benchmarks, coordinates, levels, and reference systems across project sites.
* Operate advanced surveying equipment to collect precise field measurements required for engineering and construction activities.
* Analyze survey information and convert field measurements into accurate technical data for project teams.
* Prepare site plans, survey drawings, maps, measurement records, and technical reports.
* Use AutoCAD and GIS platforms to process survey information and develop clear spatial and engineering documentation.
* Coordinate survey requirements with civil engineers, project managers, contractors, and construction teams.
* Confirm that setting-out information corresponds with approved drawings, design coordinates, dimensions, levels, and project specifications.
* Support construction teams with accurate positioning information for structures, pipelines, utilities, roads, drainage, and treatment plant components.
* Check completed works against required geometry, alignment, elevation, and location before acceptance.
* Carry out quality reviews of survey calculations, field observations, drawings, and submitted records.
