Role Context
This role supports the delivery of major infrastructure programmes by maintaining strict control over project costs, timelines, and reporting systems. The Senior Project Controls Engineer works closely with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure alignment between financial planning and construction progress while identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage project budgets ensuring alignment with approved financial baselines
* Prepare detailed monthly cost reports using data from consultants and contractors
* Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts based on construction programmes
* Implement cost control strategies to manage variances and maintain financial discipline
* Identify potential budget overruns and coordinate approvals for adjustments when required
* Collect and analyze financial data to support project planning and decision-making
* Deliver comprehensive financial performance reports to senior management
* Support development and integration of baseline schedules using Primavera P6
* Track project progress against schedules and highlight deviations and risks
* Coordinate progress validation with project teams and update schedules accordingly
* Assist in delay analysis and contribute to mitigation and recovery planning
* Develop dashboards and reports summarizing cost, schedule, and performance metrics
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
* Minimum 10 years of experience in project controls and cost engineering
* Strong experience in infrastructure or large-scale engineering projects
* Proficiency in Primavera P6 for planning and scheduling
* Advanced skills in MS Excel including dashboards and data analysis
* Strong understanding of project controls methodologies and earned value concepts
* Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data
* Strong communication skills to present technical and financial insights clearly
* High attention to detail with strong organizational abilities
