Senior Resident Engineer - Roads Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is a Civil Engineering opportunity for a highly experienced infrastructure professional who can lead large-scale roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, underpasses, and associated construction supervision packages. The role supports AECOM project delivery by managing site teams, contractors, technical compliance, quality control, HSE performance, authority coordination, and project execution in line with approved drawings, specifications, milestone targets, and stakeholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of assigned infrastructure packages covering roads, utilities, drainage, bridges, underpasses, and related civil works.
* Manage site supervision teams to ensure works are delivered safely, correctly, and in line with approved project requirements.
* Supervise contractors and verify that construction activities follow IFC drawings, specifications, quality standards, and authority requirements.
* Build and maintain an effective site organization capable of managing inspection, testing, staking, reporting, and construction supervision.
* Review project plans, specifications, amendments, construction programs, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and cost estimates.
* Monitor project progress against time, cost, quality, safety, and milestone objectives.
* Direct daily inspections according to approved inspection points, hold points, quality control procedures, and safety expectations.
* Resolve technical, interface, and site-related issues linked to roadworks, utilities, drainage networks, structures, live traffic, and authority constraints.
* Represent AECOM in client, authority, and stakeholder coordination meetings, presenting progress updates, technical matters, risks, and mitigation plans.
* Support scope changes, variations, claims, and contractual matters in coordination with the client and key stakeholders.
* Develop, review, and implement project management documentation including execution plans, HSE plans, traffic management plans, and quality control plans.
* Monitor program milestones, interface requirements, authority approvals, permits, and NOC conditions across all infrastructure works.
* Assign responsibilities to key team members, guide their performance, and support professional development within the supervision team.
* Conduct weekly coordination meetings to review progress, technical comments, risks, non-conformances, RFIs, WIRs, and corrective actions.
* Ensure timely closure of technical comments, NCRs, inspection requests, RFIs, and shop drawing approvals.
* Maintain strong HSE awareness and verify contractor compliance with project-specific safety, traffic, and site management requirements.
* Provide technical and managerial leadership across pavements, roadworks, drainage systems, utilities, structures, traffic interfaces, and existing infrastructure corridors.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
* Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, construction supervision, and management of large-scale civil projects.
* Strong background in roads, bridges, underpasses, utilities, drainage, pavements, and major transportation infrastructure.
* Previous experience on authority-led roads or transportation projects will be highly preferred.
* Professional Engineering license will be an advantage.
* Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, site supervision, quality control, inspection procedures, and infrastructure delivery standards.
* Strong ability to manage contractors, supervision teams, technical stakeholders, and client-facing project responsibilities.
* Skilled in reviewing construction programs, method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, NCRs, WIRs, and progress reports.
* Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve site constraints, technical issues, and interface risks quickly.
* Strong technical report writing, communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.
* Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced site environment and manage multiple priorities at the same time.
* Willing to work on-site and travel as required to support project delivery needs.
