Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising construction activities for bridges, viaducts, underpasses, piling works, and associated structural elements.
* Coordinate daily site activities with engineers, inspectors, surveyors, contractors, and members of the construction supervision team.
* Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, technical submissions, and correspondence related to bridge and underpass works.
* Prepare technical responses and recommendations for the Resident Engineer’s review.
* Coordinate with Parsons design engineers to resolve structural design issues, construction queries, and technical interface matters.
* Maintain daily diaries, review inspectors’ daily reports, and ensure project records are accurate, complete, and properly filed.
* Coordinate with contractor engineers on construction sequencing, scheduling, manpower, materials, equipment, and resource planning.
* Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors involved in structural works.
* Convene and chair coordination meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders when required.
* Monitor site progress and compare completed structural works against approved project schedules and programmed activities.
* Check and measure completed works within the assigned structural scope and support progress verification.
* Review material submissions, laboratory reports, technical reports, acceptance sampling plans, testing records, and quality control measures.
* Ensure all bridge, underpass, piling, and structural works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, standards, and safety requirements.
* Support the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports for structural works.
* Provide on-site technical direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions related to structural and associated works.
* Ensure safety goals are achieved and support proper implementation of site safety procedures.
* Participate actively in health and safety matters as required by the Resident Engineer and project safety representatives.
* Verify the correctness and completeness of as-built drawings and structural records.
* Support final clearance, handover documentation, and transfer of completed structural works to relevant service authorities.
* Perform other structural engineering and construction supervision duties related to the project as required.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior structural engineer with extensive bridge, underpass, viaduct, and piling supervision experience across major infrastructure projects. This role requires strong technical judgment, disciplined documentation, confident coordination skills, and the ability to guide site teams while maintaining quality, safety, and contractual compliance.
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in design review and construction supervision of structural infrastructure works.
* Strong experience with post-tension vehicular bridges, underpasses, viaducts, and large diameter piling works.
* GCC experience is required.
* Experience in major bridges and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region is preferred.
* Engineering consultancy experience in the UAE is an advantage.
* RTA approval will be an advantage.
* Ability to review and justify material submissions, laboratory reports, technical reports, testing records, and quality documents.
* Strong knowledge of acceptance sampling plans, construction testing, quality control procedures, and project specification compliance.
* Ability to review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, construction schedules, and site instructions.
* Fully computer literate with the ability to access project data, maintain records, generate reports, and use construction-related software.
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
* Strong technical writing ability for reports, correspondence, site records, and engineering responses.
* Ability to coordinate effectively with authorities, contractors, subcontractors, design teams, inspectors, surveyors, and project leadership.
