Core Duties
* Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction of bridges, viaducts, underpasses, piling works, and associated structural elements.
* Coordinate structural site activities with engineers, inspectors, surveyors, contractors, subcontractors, and the construction supervision team.
* Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, technical submissions, and project correspondence related to bridge and underpass works.
* Prepare technical comments, draft replies, and recommendations for review by the Resident Engineer.
* Coordinate with Parsons design engineers to resolve structural design issues, technical queries, and construction interface matters.
* Maintain daily diaries, review inspectors\' daily reports, and ensure structural records are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
* Coordinate with contractor engineers on construction sequencing, scheduling, resource planning, manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
* Direct, assist, and monitor inspectors and surveyors working on bridges, underpasses, and related structural activities.
* Chair or participate in coordination meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other parties connected to the structural scope.
* Check completed works, measure progress, and assist the Resident Engineer in comparing actual progress against programmed work.
* Review and justify material submissions, laboratory reports, technical reports, acceptance sampling plans, testing results, and quality control records.
* Confirm that structural works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, testing requirements, safety standards, and quality procedures.
* Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports covering structural activities, site progress, quality matters, and open issues.
* Provide on-site technical direction and help the Resident Engineer issue site instructions related to structural works and associated items.
* Support the implementation of safety procedures and participate positively in health and safety matters at site.
* Verify the correctness and completeness of as-built drawings, structural records, and handover documentation.
* Maintain necessary records for final clearance and assist with handing over completed structural works to relevant service authorities.
* Perform other structural engineering and construction supervision duties associated with the project as required.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior structural engineer with proven experience in bridge and underpass construction supervision, design review, quality control, and infrastructure project coordination. This role requires a confident site professional who can manage technical reviews, guide inspection teams, coordinate with authorities, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and documentation.
* Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in design review and construction supervision of major structural infrastructure works.
* Strong experience with post-tension vehicular bridges, underpasses, viaducts, and large diameter piling works.
* GCC experience is required.
* Experience in civil supervision of major bridges and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region is preferred.
* Engineering consultancy experience within the UAE is preferred.
* Ability to review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, technical submissions, and construction documentation.
* Capability to review and justify material submissions, laboratory reports, technical reports, testing records, and quality measures.
* Knowledge of acceptance sampling plans, construction testing, quality control procedures, and project specification compliance.
* Ability to coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, service authorities, design engineers, inspectors, surveyors, and project leadership.
* Strong computer literacy with the ability to access project data, maintain records, generate reports, and use engineering or construction software.
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
* Strong technical writing capability for reports, correspondence, review comments, and site records.
* Practical understanding of site safety procedures, progress monitoring, as-built records, and final handover requirements.
