Role Context
The Site Inspector - Civil Landscape will inspect daily construction activities for civil infrastructure, landscape, irrigation, materials, building, facility, and site development works. The role supports project quality by checking workmanship, confirming approved materials, maintaining field records, reporting installed quantities, coordinating material testing, supporting safety and quality procedures, and identifying site issues before they affect progress, compliance, or handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct site inspections to verify that civil, structural, landscape, irrigation, material, and site development works comply with contract specifications.
* Inspect installation of irrigation systems, soft landscaping, hard landscaping, planting works, paving, site finishes, and related landscape infrastructure.
* Check temporary and permanent signage, delineation works, road furniture, site markings, and associated infrastructure components.
* Inspect building works, facility construction, site development activities, mechanical equipment installation interfaces, and related civil works.
* Verify that only approved materials are incorporated into the works and that material usage follows project requirements.
* Collect, review, and file Certificates of Compliance, MSDS records, inspection tags, material approvals, test results, and supporting documentation.
* Maintain office files, site records, quantity calculations, daily diaries, inspection logs, and project documentation.
* Prepare daily reports, inspection records, quality notes, site observations, and other documentation required by the contract.
* Recognize potential conflicts, construction issues, quality concerns, safety risks, or coordination problems and report them to the supervisor with practical proposed solutions.
* Perform labor compliance interviews and maintain accurate as-built plans and field records.
* Coordinate the work of subconsultants for surveying, material testing, inspection support, and related site verification activities.
* Participate in the development of job safety practices, safety reports, quality control reports, and site inspection procedures.
* Report installed quantities to support verification of payment applications, progress claims, and change order work.
* Provide technical guidance to lower-level inspectors when required and support consistent inspection standards across the site team.
* Respond to emergency call backs at the project site when required by project operations.
* Administer or support welder qualification tests when applicable to the assigned scope.
* Perform other site inspection and construction supervision responsibilities appropriate to the project requirements.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Landscape Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in construction supervision for infrastructure, materials, landscape, irrigation, civil, or site development works.
* Practical understanding of contract specifications, inspection procedures, approved materials, quality control, and construction documentation.
* Experience inspecting soft landscaping, hard landscaping, irrigation systems, civil works, site development, signage, and related infrastructure elements.
* Ability to review material documentation, compliance certificates, MSDS records, inspection tags, test reports, and field records.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify workmanship issues, material concerns, and site conflicts.
* Good understanding of safety practices, quality control reporting, installed quantity verification, and as-built record maintenance.
* Ability to coordinate with contractors, subconsultants, surveyors, material testing teams, inspectors, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
* Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear daily reports and inspection documentation.
* Reliable field approach with the ability to work under project deadlines, respond to site requirements, and support quality-focused delivery.
