Position Overview

Parsons is hiring a Site Surveyor - Landscape and Irrigation Works in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for surveying and construction verification across Civil Engineering projects. This field-based position will establish accurate measurements for irrigation installations, landscape elements, services, earthworks, and related infrastructure.

Role Context

The surveyor will provide dependable positional and elevation data that enables site teams to build each feature in its intended location. Working with engineers, inspectors, clients, and contractors,


the role will confirm control references, detect discrepancies, and create a reliable record of completed works.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out topographic and construction surveys for irrigation and landscape activities.
* Complete geodetic computations and routine field calculations.
* Establish project requirements with the client, contractor, and engineering team before commencing surveys.
* Plan field activities to meet defined schedule, labor-hour, and cost targets.
* Check horizontal setting-out and vertical levels for new construction.
* Identify existing utility locations and verify that appropriate protection is maintained.
* Produce sketches that clearly communicate field measurements and surveyed conditions.
* Keep field books, coordinate data, calculations, sketches, and survey records complete and current.
* Perform routine validation of benchmarks and survey control points.
* Verify the location and elevation of irrigation lines, landscape works, and associated infrastructure.
* Capture original ground levels and final construction levels.
* Validate earthwork cross-sections and assist with quantity determination.
* Measure inspected construction and provide data for payment or progress assessment.
* Help the responsible engineer compare shop drawings with actual site conditions.
* Supply verified information for the preparation of as-built drawings.
* Review record drawings for accuracy before project closeout.
* Highlight measurement discrepancies and coordinate their resolution with the site team.
* Follow site safety rules and support instructions issued by the Resident Engineer and safety representative.

Ideal Profile

Applicants should possess a diploma or associate degree in land surveying, civil engineering, or an equivalent technical field. The position requires at least four years of experience inspecting or supervising irrigation and landscaping activities on infrastructure construction projects.

Candidates must understand surveying terminology and confidently interpret maps, plats, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Competence with common surveying instruments and the ability to complete accurate calculations are essential.

Applicants must currently be based in the United Arab Emirates and have recent local work experience. Previous involvement in Dubai projects is particularly desirable.
