Role Summary
The Structural Engineer - Bridges is responsible for supporting construction supervision activities for bridge and viaduct projects in Dubai, UAE. The role contributes directly to ensuring engineering quality, structural integrity, and timely project delivery across complex infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Resident Engineer in supervising bridge and viaduct construction works
* Coordinate daily site activities with engineers, inspectors, and project teams
* Review shop drawings, design submissions, and method statements for compliance
* Liaise with design teams to resolve technical and structural issues
* Maintain daily site records, reports, and construction logs
* Monitor contractor schedules, resources, and execution progress
* Oversee inspectors and surveyors to ensure quality standards are maintained
* Conduct and lead coordination meetings with contractors and authorities
* Ensure proper documentation and accuracy of project records
* Enforce site safety standards and monitor compliance with safety procedures
* Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports
* Verify completed work and track progress against project timelines
* Review and confirm accuracy of as-built drawings and documentation
* Support project handover processes and final approvals with authorities
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
* Minimum 10 years of experience in bridge construction and supervision
* Strong background in post-tension bridges, underpasses, and piling works
* Experience reviewing materials, lab reports, and quality testing procedures
* Ability to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and standards
* Strong technical reporting and documentation skills
* Proficient in engineering software and digital project tools
* Excellent communication skills in English for technical coordination
* Familiarity with UAE approval processes such as DHRE is advantageous
