Position Overview

Parsons is hiring a Structural Inspector - Bridge Rehabilitation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to monitor bridge works and verify compliance across Civil Engineering construction activities. The position will inspect permanent and temporary works, maintain site records, guide inspection personnel, and support project completion and handover.

Role Context

Bridge inspection requires careful evaluation of existing conditions and close surveillance of rehabilitation activities. The Structural Inspector will help confirm that site conditions are


compatible with the approved design and that contractors execute each stage in accordance with accepted methods, codes, specifications, and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Examine existing site conditions and confirm their suitability for the designed permanent works.
* Inspect bridge rehabilitation and structural construction activities throughout execution.
* Monitor temporary works and verify compliance with approved methods and contract requirements.
* Check materials, workmanship, dimensions, and completed construction against project specifications.
* Provide practical advice on construction-related matters within the assigned authority.
* Maintain detailed records of inspections, completed activities, observations, and required corrections.
* Identify non-compliant work and promptly communicate findings to the engineering team.
* Direct assigned inspectors and monitor the quality and consistency of their performance.
* Assist with measuring completed work when requested.
* Observe site safety practices and report unsafe conditions through established procedures.
* Support the preparation and verification of as-built drawings.
* Inspect completed works and document outstanding defects in snag lists.
* Monitor the correction of identified defects before final acceptance.
* Help prepare completed bridge works for handover to the relevant operating authority.
* Coordinate inspection matters with engineers, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Ideal Profile

Candidates may qualify through one of two educational and experience routes. Applicants with a recognized bachelor\'s degree in civil or structural engineering should possess at least three years of experience in bridge inspection and rehabilitation. Those holding an associate diploma in civil or structural engineering require a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Previous project involvement in Dubai, elsewhere in the United Arab Emirates, or the wider Gulf region is preferred. Experience working for an engineering consultancy will be beneficial.

Approval from relevant UAE clients or authorities will provide an additional advantage. Candidates must communicate clearly in English and demonstrate a consistent commitment to safe construction practices.
