Position Overview
Parsons Corporation is seeking a Structural Inspector in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to carry out on-site structural inspections for bridge and tunnel infrastructure works. Working on behalf of the Consultant under a FIDIC form of contract, the role supports the Structural Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer in verifying contractor compliance with contract documents, approved drawings, project specifications, RTA and Dubai Municipality standards, and applicable international structural codes.

Bridge Inspections - Substructure and Foundations
- Inspect pile foundations including bored piles, barrettes, and pile caps.
- Witness pile integrity testing including
PIT and CSL testing.
- Witness static and dynamic pile load tests.
- Verify reinforcement placement, concrete cover, lap lengths, and couplers in pile caps, pier columns, and abutments.
- Inspect formwork stability, alignment, and tolerances before concrete pour approval.
- Witness concrete pours, concrete sampling, slump tests, and temperature monitoring for mass concrete elements.
Bridge Inspections - Superstructure
- Inspect precast segmental box girders, I-girders, and U-girders during fabrication, transportation, and erection.
- Witness post-tensioning activities including duct installation, strand threading, stressing, elongation checks, grouting, and anchor block protection.
- Verify bridge bearing installation, alignment, levels, and pre-setting against design requirements.
- Inspect deck slab pours and stitch pours.
- Inspect parapets, crash barriers, deck waterproofing, and asphalt overlay works.
- Inspect expansion joints, drainage scuppers, and deck furniture installation.
Structural Compliance
- Verify structural works against approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable contract requirements.
- Monitor compliance with relevant RTA and Dubai Municipality standards.
- Apply applicable international requirements including ACI, AASHTO LRFD, BS, Eurocodes, and ITA guidelines during structural inspection activities.
- Support the Structural Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer in maintaining quality, safety, and contractual compliance across the assigned structural scope.
Role Focus
The Structural Inspector provides field-level oversight of bridge and tunnel structural works, with particular attention to foundations, reinforced concrete construction, precast superstructures, post-tensioning systems, bearings, bridge decks, and associated structural components. The position requires systematic inspection and accurate verification of contractor work against approved technical and contractual requirements.
