The Structural Inspector - Site Supervision will support Parsons Corporation by inspecting construction works, checking structural quality, maintaining inspection records, and ensuring that permanent and temporary works are completed in line with approved methods, contract requirements, and safe work practices. The position plays an important role in protecting project quality by identifying site issues early, guiding inspection activities, supporting measurement of completed works, and assisting with as-built documentation and handover preparation.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect site conditions to confirm suitability for designed permanent structural works.
* Review construction activities and provide practical advice on site execution, workmanship, and construction-related matters.
* Inspect permanent works and temporary works to verify compliance with approved methods, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
* Monitor structural construction quality and highlight non-compliant work, site defects, or concerns requiring corrective action.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, executed works, site observations, progress notes, and quality-related findings.
* Direct and coordinate inspectors where required, ensuring inspection activities are carried out properly and performance expectations are met.
* Assist with measurement of completed works when required for progress verification, payment support, or project records.
* Observe site safety procedures and support a safe working environment throughout construction supervision activities.
* Assist in the preparation and review of as-built drawings by confirming site conditions and completed work details.
* Support inspection of completed works and help prepare snag lists before handover to the operating authority.
* Coordinate with contractors, engineers, consultants, and project team members to resolve site inspection comments and construction issues.
* Verify that structural works are completed according to approved shop drawings, project specifications, and applicable engineering standards.
* Monitor small building structures and related project components to ensure they meet required quality and design intent.
* Communicate inspection findings clearly to management, staff, contractors, and relevant project stakeholders.
* Follow project documentation procedures and maintain organized records for future reference, audit, and handover.
* Support timely closure of inspection requests, snagging items, quality observations, and site coordination actions.
* Perform other construction inspection and supervision duties associated with the role as required.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with minimum 4 years of related construction supervision experience.
* Alternatively, diploma in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with minimum 7 years of related construction supervision experience.
* Project experience in buildings, small structures, structural works, or related construction supervision assignments.
* Previous work experience in Dubai, UAE, or GCC region with an engineering consulting firm is preferred.
* Good understanding of site inspection procedures, construction methods, structural drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
* Ability to inspect permanent and temporary works with strong attention to quality, safety, and practical constructability.
* Knowledge and experience using relevant computer software for reporting, documentation, and project communication.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management, staff, contractors, and project teams.
