Role Summary
The Surveyor - Microtunneling Works is responsible for ensuring high-precision surveying activities across underground pipeline and tunneling projects. The role directly impacts construction accuracy, alignment integrity, and successful execution of deep infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for stormwater and microtunneling works including shafts, pipelines, and chambers
* Establish and maintain control points, benchmarks, and reference grids in coordination with project teams
* Apply approved drawings, alignment data, and coordinate systems in compliance with RTA and project standards
* Verify horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe levels, tunnel drives, and shaft positioning during construction
* Monitor microtunneling alignment and breakthrough coordinates ensuring tolerance compliance
* Conduct as-built surveys and validate contractor submissions before approval
* Maintain accurate field records, survey logs, and digital data for traceability
* Coordinate with contractor teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure alignment accuracy
* Certify survey results for measurement sheets, progress tracking, and payment verification
* Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to provide survey insights
* Ensure adherence to QA and QC procedures for survey operations and instrument calibration
* Maintain and calibrate survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and digital levels
* Support testing, commissioning, and final handover by verifying coordinates and levels
* Ensure compliance with safety procedures, especially in confined spaces and shaft operations
Ideal Profile
* Strong experience in surveying for microtunneling, stormwater drainage, or underground infrastructure
* Familiarity with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and DEWA standards
* Experience in deep pipeline works, shaft construction, and tunnel alignment monitoring
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and modern survey equipment
* Strong understanding of coordinate systems and vertical alignment control
* Ability to work in complex site environments with high precision requirements
