Utilities Engineer – AECOM – Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
This Utilities Engineer role with AECOM Dubai supports major RTA roads and bridges projects, focusing on the supervision and coordination of wet and dry utilities. The position ensures full compliance with authority requirements, safety standards, and project specifications while overseeing construction quality and resolving technical issues on-site.

Key Responsibilities
* Supervise construction of wet and dry utilities including water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, HV/LV cables, street lighting, telecom, and ITS
* Ensure contractor adherence to approved drawings, method statements, and RTA standards
* Review and comment on shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and as-built drawings
* Witness utility testing, commissioning, and quality control procedures
* Identify and report non-conformances and ensure corrective actions
* Coordinate with RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, DU, and authorities for NOCs, inspections, and approvals
* Liaise with contractor teams to manage work sequences and resolve conflicts
* Oversee utility diversions, protection works, and tie-ins
* Maintain detailed inspection records, test results, and utilities progress documentation
* Prepare daily and weekly reports and assist with punch lists and closeout stages
* Monitor contractor manpower, equipment, and resource deployment
* Provide technical guidance to inspectors and junior engineers
* Identify potential conflicts in utility corridors and propose solutions
* Support value engineering reviews and resolve site issues with the Resident Engineer
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* UAE Society of Engineers membership preferred
* Minimum 8 years of utilities experience in major infrastructure projects
* Minimum 5 years in Dubai with strong background in RTA projects
* Proven coordination experience with regulatory authorities
* Strong understanding of wet and dry utilities construction requirements
* Effective communication, problem-solving, and site supervision skills
