Rust will be the primary language, although some repositories may contain supporting components developed in C++, Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop production-quality Rust components for approved open-source repositories.
* Review existing architecture, crates, dependencies, interfaces, and project conventions.
* Design algorithms and system features that satisfy functional and performance requirements.
* Use Rust ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, and type safety effectively.
* Implement concurrent or asynchronous behaviour without compromising reliability.
* Reproduce reported failures and trace them to specific code paths or design issues.
* Resolve defects involving memory use, concurrency, integration, compatibility, or logic.
* Profile resource-intensive components and optimize verified performance bottlenecks.
* Simplify legacy or overly complex code while preserving required behaviour.
* Strengthen error handling and ensure failure conditions remain observable and manageable.
* Add unit, integration, regression, and edge-case tests for new or modified functionality.
* Use appropriate Rust development and quality tools to validate contributions.
* Prepare focused commits and pull requests with clear technical explanations.
* Respond to maintainer feedback and refine proposed changes through the review cycle.
* Assess peer-contributed code for correctness, safety, efficiency, and architectural fit.
* Participate in design discussions and provide constructive recommendations supported by evidence.
