The BIM Designer will convert architectural intent and facade engineering requirements into detailed digital models and coordinated technical drawings that support design approval, fabrication, and installation. Key Responsibilities
* Develop detailed 3D BIM models for curtain walls, windows, doors, skylights, louvers, glazing systems, and architectural cladding.
* Build models from approved architectural drawings, project specifications, design intent, and engineering requirements.
* Create and maintain parametric Revit families, facade components, and reusable BIM libraries.
* Apply project BIM standards, naming conventions, modeling procedures, and required Level of Development criteria.
* Coordinate facade models with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
* Review multidisciplinary models and drawings to identify clashes, dimensional conflicts, and design inconsistencies.
* Participate in BIM coordination meetings and contribute practical solutions to model and interface issues.
* Work closely with Structural Engineers and Facade Designers to verify structural interfaces and constructability.
* Extract coordinated shop drawings directly from approved BIM models.
* Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, installation drawings, elevations, sections, plans, and detailed component views.
* Develop technical details for aluminum profiles, mullions, transoms, brackets, anchors, connections, glazing, and fixing systems.
* Produce schedules and drawing information required by factory and site teams.
* Check drawing dimensions, interfaces, references, and fabrication details before issue.
* Ensure drawings accurately reflect approved models and latest design revisions.
* Incorporate consultant comments, RFIs, design amendments, and site instructions into models and drawings.
* Maintain disciplined revision control so superseded information is not used for fabrication or installation.
* Coordinate updated model and drawing releases with Design, Engineering, Production, and Project teams.
* Resolve drawing and model queries raised by factory personnel during fabrication.
* Support project teams when installation conditions require clarification or model verification.
* Update BIM information to reflect approved construction changes and site conditions.
* Assist with the preparation of as-built BIM models and final project drawings.
* Support clash detection exercises using Navisworks or other BIM coordination tools where required.
* Maintain organized digital project files, model versions, linked references, and technical documentation.
* Verify consistency between architectural intent, structural requirements, facade details, and production information.
* Contribute to improved BIM workflows, component libraries, and drawing standards for recurring facade systems.
Ideal Profile
* Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* 3-5 years of relevant experience in BIM modeling, technical drafting, or facade design support.
* Previous experience within aluminum, facade, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, or building envelope projects is strongly preferred.
* Advanced working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
* Experience with Navisworks or similar BIM coordination platforms is advantageous.
