Role Summary
As Civil Design Manager – Stormwater and Grading, you will oversee the technical planning, regulatory compliance, and execution of all stormwater and site grading components for a high-profile development. You\'ll work closely with architects, planners, and environmental consultants to deliver integrated solutions that balance infrastructure performance with luxury design principles.
What You’ll Do
* Lead design reviews of stormwater management systems and grading plans to ensure project quality and compliance with local regulations
* Coordinate with consultants and construction teams to optimize earthworks, runoff management, and site contours for both performance and visual impact
* Integrate sustainable drainage systems, such as bioswales, retention basins, and permeable surfaces into the master plan
* Conduct detailed evaluations of site hydrology, soil behavior, and erosion control measures
* Ensure civil site works meet high-end development standards for precision, safety, and longevity
* Liaise with permitting authorities to secure approvals for stormwater systems and grading components
* Monitor project execution and resolve field issues related to drainage, soil stability, or grading challenges
* Conduct inspections and enforce strict quality assurance and risk management practices
* Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers, inspectors, and construction teams
* Present technical solutions and progress reports to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* At least 15 years of specialized experience in grading and stormwater design, preferably in luxury or high-end developments
* Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HydroCAD, and related civil engineering tools
* Strong technical knowledge of hydrology, geotechnical design, erosion control, and water-sensitive urban design (WSUD) principles
* Experience dealing with UAE regulatory frameworks and environmental permitting processes
* Exceptional coordination, communication, and leadership skills
* Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in the UAE
