Role Context
The Data Scientist sits at the intersection of construction cost management, data analytics, software automation, and digital engineering. Working alongside quantity surveyors and multidisciplinary project teams, the position helps transform project information into structured datasets, interactive dashboards, automated processes, and practical insights that can improve commercial and project decisions.
A major focus is integrating modern digital workflows into established quantity surveying practices. The graduate will help teams strengthen cost planning, cost control, value engineering, reporting, and information management while developing practical expertise in technologies such as Python, SQL, Power BI, BIM platforms, CostX, Dynamo, and VBA.
As part of the structured Advance graduate program, the role combines real project exposure with formal learning and mentoring from experienced professionals, creating a pathway from graduate-level technical work toward broader digital engineering and construction analytics responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Support Quantity Surveying and Cost Management teams with digital tools, structured data, analytics, and automated workflows.
* Work closely with quantity surveyors to integrate digital processes into established cost management activities.
* Improve cost planning, cost control, forecasting, and value engineering processes using appropriate digital platforms.
* Collect project information from multiple sources and organize it into reliable datasets for analysis and reporting.
* Analyze construction and commercial data to identify patterns, trends, risks, and actionable insights.
* Maintain project databases and ensure information remains accurate, structured, current, and accessible to relevant teams.
* Develop information-rich dashboards and reports using Power BI or comparable data visualization platforms.
* Build and maintain digital templates that standardize recurring analytical and cost management activities.
* Develop automation scripts using Python, Dynamo, VBA, or similar technologies to reduce repetitive manual work.
* Apply SQL and data management techniques to organize, retrieve, validate, and analyze project information.
* Monitor data quality and ensure digital outputs comply with organizational information management standards.
* Support implementation of new technologies across quantity surveying and cost management workflows.
* Provide technical assistance to colleagues using digital tools, applications, dashboards, and automated processes.
* Deliver training sessions and practical guidance when new digital workflows or systems are introduced.
* Explore emerging construction technologies and propose solutions that could improve productivity, accuracy, and project delivery.
* Work with cross-functional teams to encourage adoption of digital practices across project environments.
* Support BIM-enabled workflows using platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Solibri, and Aconex.
* Assist teams working with CostX or similar quantity surveying and estimating platforms.
* Engage constructively with colleagues from different disciplines and levels of seniority to improve digital processes.
* Contribute to a collaborative environment where technical ideas, experimentation, and continuous improvement are encouraged.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must be UAE Nationals holding a Family Book and should have graduated with a Bachelor\'s degree during 2024, 2025, or 2026.
A Bachelor\'s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Digital Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related discipline is required, with a minimum GPA of 2.8.
The position is particularly suited to graduates who combine strong analytical ability with an interest in construction, commercial management, digital transformation, automation, and data-driven project delivery.
Candidates should have advanced capability in Python and SQL together with experience using data visualization platforms such as Power BI.
Understanding of construction-focused digital technologies is important. Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Solibri, Aconex, CostX, or comparable platforms will be valuable.
Experience developing automation using Dynamo, Python, VBA, or similar scripting technologies is highly relevant.
The role also requires clear communication, good organization, effective time management, and the confidence to work with multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.
