Position Overview
Parsons is hiring a Landscape Inspector - Hardscape Finishes in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a site-based Construction role on a major public-realm development in Diriyah. Open to Saudi nationals, the position will support the delivery of iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, and more than 55 kilometers of streetscape.
The inspector will verify the quality and compliance of hardscape finishes and related landscape works. Daily activities will include responding to inspection requests, checking installations against approved documents, maintaining site records, reporting deficiencies, and coordinating interfaces with other construction disciplines.

Hardscape finishes define the safety, durability, accessibility, and visual quality of parks, plazas, pedestrian routes, and streetscape areas. Materials and workmanship must remain consistent across extensive public spaces while accommodating drainage, utilities, lighting, planting, and other site interfaces.
The Landscape Inspector will provide continuous field verification so defective or non-compliant work is identified before it progresses. Accurate inspection records and prompt corrective action will help protect design intent, reduce rework, and support the timely completion of public-realm assets.
Key Responsibilities
The inspector will maintain an active site presence and provide documented assurance of construction quality.
* Attend inspection requests submitted by the contractor and respond within the required timeframe.
* Inspect hardscape finishes and related landscape construction against approved requirements.
* Assist in reviewing shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications.
* Check compliance with local codes, statutory requirements, and applicable international practices.
* Identify work that does not conform to approved drawings, specifications, or installation methods.
* Report non-compliant work to the responsible stakeholders for corrective action.
* Monitor workmanship, material quality, and construction progress each day.
* Verify that completed works meet approved samples, details, levels, patterns, and finish requirements.
* Maintain daily site records supported by clear progress photographs.
* Ensure inspection files and supporting evidence remain organized and readily available.
* Prepare surveillance reports for defective, incomplete, or non-compliant work.
* Raise non-conformance reports when required by site conditions and quality procedures.
* Track inspection observations and contractor actions through closure.
* Coordinate landscape works with civil, structural, drainage, utilities, lighting, and other disciplines.
* Identify interface problems and support practical site-based resolutions.
* Provide technical input when hardscape or landscape issues arise during construction.
* Confirm that contractor activities follow approved method statements and contract requirements.
* Maintain records of inspections, executed quantities, observations, and accepted work.
* Assist with measuring completed works when requested.
* Observe site-safety procedures and report unsafe conditions through established channels.
* Communicate inspection findings clearly to engineers, contractors, and supervision-team members.
Ideal Profile
The preferred candidate is a Saudi landscape professional with practical inspection experience and a detailed understanding of hardscape construction.
* Degree in Landscape Architecture.
* Minimum seven years of directly related landscape experience.
* Practical knowledge of hardscape materials, finishes, installation methods, and workmanship standards.
* Ability to interpret landscape drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and construction details.
* Experience inspecting public-realm, park, streetscape, or urban-landscape works is desirable.
* Understanding of quality inspections, surveillance reports, and non-conformance procedures.
* Ability to recognize defects and provide clear supporting evidence.
* Familiarity with multidisciplinary construction interfaces.
* Strong site-recording, photography, reporting, and documentation abilities.
* Effective communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to work outdoors and maintain regular site coverage.
