Position Overview
Lead Structural Design Engineer roles in Dubai infrastructure projects focus on technical leadership, delivery excellence, and innovation in bridge and transportation structure design. Key Responsibilities
* Lead technical delivery of bridge and structural designs across multiple projects in parallel
* Perform and oversee technical reviews and quality checks of design deliverables prior to submission
* Deliver high-quality, technically sound, and compliant bridge and transportation structure designs
* Identify opportunities for innovative design solutions and value engineering
* Plan, allocate, and coordinate resources to execute design commissions efficiently
* Liaise with project managers and discipline leads to manage schedules, information flow, and interdisciplinary coordination
* Set and agree project priorities in collaboration with project and technical managers
* Meet with clients and approving authorities to present, discuss, and secure design approvals when required
* Provide clear technical direction to design teams and ensure priorities and expectations are well understood
* Report to the Technical Director on project delivery status, staffing, and team utilization
* Support the Technical Director in recruitment, mentoring, and people management activities
* Act as Deputy Technical Director when required
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
* Minimum 20 years of post-graduate experience in bridge and structural design delivery
* Mandatory experience delivering RTA bridge and infrastructure projects, with at least 7 years on RTA projects
* Proven experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
* Demonstrated commitment to technical excellence, innovation, and high-quality delivery
