Position Overview
This Material Engineer role ensures that all materials used across project works comply with specifications, authority requirements and quality standards. The position oversees material submissions, inspections, testing, factory visits, and site verification to support safe and compliant delivery of water, sewerage and infrastructure projects in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities
* Review and approve contractor material proposals and methods as delegated by the Resident Engineer
* Prepare the Material Engineer’s daily diary and maintain accurate documentation
* Oversee contractor activities, work assignments and on-site performance
* Attend factory visits and supplier plant inspections as required
* Follow up on testing, approvals and authority coordination
* Review contractor testing requests and completed test reports
* Review and approve contractor submissions as assigned by the Resident Engineer
* Monitor material delivery performance and verify material accuracy at site
* Coordinate with contractor supervisory teams on work sequence, schedule and methods
* Monitor contractor compliance with project timelines and work progress
* Conduct continuous field inspections and provide recommendations for corrective actions
* Prepare written and verbal reports to the Resident Engineer on material, contractual and procedural matters
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
* Dubai Central Laboratory approval is mandatory
* Minimum 10 years of experience in design, construction and supervision of water pipelines, sewerage, rising mains and pumping stations
* Strong understanding of Dubai’s existing infrastructure networks
* Extensive experience in quality inspections and ISO9000 systems
* Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate with multiple project stakeholders
