Role Context
The Planning Engineer plays a critical role in managing project timelines, evaluating delays, and ensuring alignment between multiple project packages. The position directly supports project success by providing accurate scheduling insights, improving coordination, and enabling timely decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and validate contractor baseline schedules in line with contract requirements
* Develop integrated master schedules covering multiple project packages
* Monitor progress updates and identify delays or potential risks
* Perform what-if analysis to evaluate impact of changes and variations
* Prepare detailed progress and performance reports with recommendations
* Assess contractor claims including extension of time and disruption analysis
* Coordinate with contractors and clients to resolve scheduling challenges
* Participate in meetings and prepare clear progress updates and reports
* Maintain logs and trackers for critical project activities
* Support development of progress measurement systems and performance indicators
* Issue delay notices and highlight performance gaps where required
Ideal Profile
A highly experienced planning professional with strong background in infrastructure projects across the Gulf region. The candidate should be skilled in delay analysis, scheduling tools, and managing complex project timelines involving multiple stakeholders.
Skills Set
* Expertise in Primavera P6 and scheduling software
* Strong knowledge of delay analysis methods and project controls
* Experience in infrastructure, utilities, and ITS projects
* Ability to analyze schedules and identify critical path issues
* Strong reporting, documentation, and presentation skills
* Effective communication and coordination abilities
