Resident Engineer – AECOM – Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
This Resident Engineer role oversees construction supervision for major civil and infrastructure projects across Dubai. The position leads contractor supervision, ensures compliance with specifications and milestones, resolves site issues, manages safety performance, and represents AECOM with the client on all engineering matters.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of assigned project packages across time, cost and quality targets
* Manage contractors to ensure works meet specifications and milestone schedules
* Direct supervision teams for daily inspections and site compliance
* Maintain strong safety oversight and ensure contractor adherence to HSE obligations
* Resolve technical and site issues promptly
* Present progress updates and project concerns to the client
* Manage scope changes and negotiate as needed with client and subcontractors
* Prepare and enforce Project Execution Plans, HSE Plans and Quality Control Plans
* Set program requirements and monitor site staff performance
* Oversee technical, administrative and financial aspects of project delivery
* Assign responsibilities to subordinates and support their performance development
* Conduct internal weekly meetings to review status and define action items
* Represent AECOM in all client meetings
* Perform engineering, construction management and technical review duties for road and infrastructure works
* Review construction programmes, specifications and cost estimates
* Ensure deliverables meet standards and project requirements
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* Chartered Engineer status advantageous
* Strong understanding of Dubai authority processes
* Minimum 20 years experience in design and site supervision
* UAE experience essential, particularly in Dubai
* Proven experience in sewerage treatment works and associated infrastructure
* Strong leadership, decision-making and communication skills
