The Resident Engineer will provide senior technical leadership at the construction site and serve as a central point of coordination between the project management team, contractors, consultants, architects, and engineering disciplines. The role is focused on converting approved designs into compliant, safe, and high-quality completed works while maintaining control over daily site activities.
Decisions made at resident engineer level can directly influence programme performance, construction quality, safety, and successful handover. The position therefore requires strong engineering judgment, disciplined documentation, and the ability to resolve complex site conditions before they develop into costly delays or quality failures.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day construction supervision activities across the assigned building project.
* Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, workmanship, installation quality, and compliance.
* Compare construction activities with approved architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
* Verify that contractors execute works in accordance with applicable UAE building codes and project standards.
* Review proposed construction methodologies and identify technical or execution concerns before implementation.
* Assess construction materials and equipment against approved specifications and project requirements.
* Review installation methods to confirm suitability for the intended building systems and design.
* Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing supervision activities.

Ideal Profile

A minimum of five years should have been gained in a senior technical position with substantial responsibility for construction delivery or supervision.
Extensive knowledge of building construction methodologies, engineering specifications, quality assurance, building codes, and industry standards is essential. Candidates must be confident interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and understanding how the different disciplines interact during construction.
Experience with complex or high-rise building projects is preferred. Previous work in the United Arab Emirates will be particularly valuable due to the need for familiarity with local building codes, construction regulations, authority requirements, and regional project practices.
The position requires proven QA and QC capability together with practical knowledge of HSE regulations and construction site controls.
