Role Context
The Risk Manager will guide the full risk
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate risk workshops, risk reviews, and structured risk assessment sessions throughout the project lifecycle.
* Lead the project team and stakeholders through risk identification, definition, assessment, analysis, mitigation, ownership, and monitoring.
* Perform complex qualitative and quantitative analysis on individual risks and wider project risk exposure.
* Maintain and periodically update risk registers, risk repositories, assessment records, mitigation trackers, and risk reporting databases.
* Monitor emerging risks, analyze risk trends, and work with risk owners to evaluate exposure and define practical mitigation actions.
* Analyze the likelihood of achieving project cost and schedule targets by linking uncertainty to planned project activities.
* Support schedule risk analysis, cost risk analysis, Monte Carlo-style assessments, and scenario-based risk reviews where required.
* Prepare clear risk reports, dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries for project teams, senior management, and client stakeholders.
* Develop custom risk reports for different levels of the organization, including executive management.
* Support knowledge sharing across portfolios and programmes by capturing lessons learned, recurring risks, mitigation approaches, and improvement opportunities.
* Lead or support training materials for risk management awareness, process adoption, tools usage, and risk-related education across project teams.
* Coordinate with IT and system administrators to resolve risk software issues and maintain effective risk management tools.
* Monitor updates to risk repositories, reporting tools, and assessment platforms to protect data integrity and reporting consistency.
* Develop work schedules for risk deliverables, reporting cycles, workshop preparation, and senior management submissions.
* Assist management in preparing executive-level presentations covering risk status, key exposures, trends, mitigation plans, and required decisions.
* Oversee meeting minutes, reports, action logs, and related documentation for enterprise risk applications and project risk reviews.
* Interpret complex risk information and present recommendations in a clear, confident, accurate, and concise manner.
* Support constructability reviews, schedule critical reviews, cost estimate scrutiny, and analysis of areas where uncertainty may affect project outcomes.
* Coordinate with planning, project controls, commercial, engineering, construction, and management teams to ensure risk information supports live project decisions.
* Promote consistent risk management discipline, accountability, and early warning practices across project teams.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field from a Western university.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in a project-oriented environment performing risk management.
* Strong background in risk planning, risk assessment facilitation, risk mitigation, risk analysis, and risk reporting.
* Experience facilitating risk workshops with project stakeholders, senior management, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
* Practical knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment processes, tools, applications, and reporting methods.
* Experience using Oracle or Primavera Risk Analysis, Primavera-based risk assessment tools, or similar risk management applications.
* Familiarity with computer-based scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera Project Planner, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
* Strong understanding of construction management fundamentals, project scheduling, cost estimating, project controls, constructability reviews, and schedule criticality.
* PMI-RMP certification is highly desirable.
* Leadership, management, programme management, project management, strategic planning, or performance management certification is preferred.
* Proven ability to perform in a management capacity within complex project or programme environments.
* Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and structured reporting.
* Able to identify key issues, interpret technical and commercial information, and present clear risk-based recommendations.
* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
* In-depth knowledge of industry practices, regulations, governance expectations, and project risk management standards.
* Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, workshops, reports, and stakeholder demands.
* Confident working with senior stakeholders and presenting complex risk information in a practical, decision-ready format.
