Role Context
This position supports AECOM\'s Transportation business line within its Middle East
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and inspect electrical works across roads and infrastructure projects.
* Oversee LV-HV networks, street lighting and power-distribution systems.
* Monitor telecom ducts and associated electrical utility works.
* Review electrical shop drawings and provide technical comments or approvals.
* Evaluate material submittals and construction method statements.
* Ensure compliance with project specifications and authority requirements.
* Verify adherence to DEWA, Etisalat, du, RTA and Dubai Municipality standards.
* Coordinate electrical works with civil and mechanical construction activities.
* Monitor electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
* Verify cable routing, trenching, ducting and manhole installations.
* Witness insulation resistance, continuity and load testing.
* Review as-built drawings against verified site conditions.
* Coordinate with site inspectors during field verification.
* Participate in technical meetings and utility coordination workshops.
* Support authority inspections and project approval procedures.
* Monitor contractor performance against approved schedules.
* Enforce HSE requirements during all electrical activities.
* Identify non-conforming work and issue appropriate reports.
* Monitor contractor corrective actions through satisfactory completion.
* Review no-objection certificate drawings and authority submissions.
* Track the status of required electrical approvals.
* Support the Resident Engineer with contractor technical queries.
* Evaluate electrical design-change requests.
* Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
* Document work status, delays and inspection findings.
* Maintain traceable records of electrical inspections, tests and approvals.
* Support final inspections and authority handover activities.
* Coordinate shutdowns and safe reconnection of existing services.
* Verify final as-built documentation before project closeout.
* Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and authorities.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
* Minimum 15 years of electrical construction-supervision experience.
* Extensive UAE roads and infrastructure project experience.
* Proven ability to supervise street-lighting and traffic-signal systems.
* Experience overseeing electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
* Knowledge of LV-HV networks and power-distribution infrastructure.
* Familiarity with DEWA, ADDC and RTA standards.
* Understanding of UAE electrical codes and authority procedures.
* Ability to review electrical shop drawings and material submittals.
* Experience coordinating contractors, consultants and utility authorities.
* Strong inspection, quality-control and technical reporting abilities.
* Knowledge of non-conformance and corrective-action procedures.
* Ability to manage shutdowns involving existing electrical services.
* Strong analytical and construction problem-solving skills.
