Role Context
The Senior Project
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the design and construction delivery of a public realm improvement project executed under a Design and Build contract.
* Take responsibility for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring milestones are achieved on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Lead multidisciplinary coordination across hard landscaping, soft landscaping, roads, utilities infrastructure, buildings, public realm assets, and corridor works.
* Oversee delivery activities within a 10km environmentally sensitive corridor while ensuring environmental, safety, technical, and stakeholder requirements are respected.
* Review design progress, construction sequencing, project schedules, delivery plans, and interface requirements to keep the project moving toward completion.
* Coordinate with consultants, contractors, designers, supervision teams, utility providers, local authorities, and internal project stakeholders.
* Manage project interfaces between functional requirements, construction constraints, utilities, public realm elements, roads, landscape works, and adjacent assets.
* Monitor milestone performance, construction progress, cost exposure, quality standards, safety requirements, and risk controls.
* Lead project meetings, progress reviews, technical workshops, coordination sessions, and stakeholder briefings.
* Identify project risks, delivery constraints, design issues, and interface conflicts, then develop practical mitigation and recovery actions.
* Support construction-phase decision-making by solving complex problems and guiding teams toward workable technical and delivery solutions.
* Manage asset delivery through construction, completion, handover, and start-up readiness.
* Ensure project execution aligns with industry practices, contractual requirements, approved procedures, regulations, and client expectations.
* Coordinate handover documentation, close-out requirements, operational readiness inputs, and final acceptance activities.
* Motivate project teams, encourage accountability, and maintain delivery focus across multiple workstreams.
* Support clear written and oral communication with senior stakeholders, contractors, client representatives, technical teams, and public-facing project participants.
* Maintain professional project reporting on progress, milestones, risks, interfaces, decisions, and delivery priorities.
* Respond flexibly to new challenges, changing project needs, and critical delivery issues while keeping the project focused on completion.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 15 years of related experience in project management, construction delivery, infrastructure, public realm, or urban regeneration projects.
* Proven track record delivering multidisciplinary projects with high public visibility.
* Strong experience managing Design and Build contracts with responsibility for design coordination, construction delivery, handover, and project close-out.
* Working knowledge of public realm, urban regeneration, road works, landscaping, buildings, and utilities infrastructure projects.
* Experience managing asset delivery through construction, handover, and start-up operations.
* Skilled in interface management between complex functional, technical, infrastructure, and stakeholder requirements.
* Strong leadership capability with the ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication, reporting, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong problem-solving ability with a practical approach to project risks, delivery constraints, and construction challenges.
* Thorough understanding of industry practices, construction regulations, project governance, and delivery controls.
* Enthusiastic, flexible, and able to drive projects to completion in demanding construction environments.
