Core Responsibilities:
Manages the planning, design, layout and maintenance of warehousing facilities and storage areas to ensure optimal utilization
Develops and recommend measures to improve the quality of service and increase the efficiency of performance in the warehouse
Ensures efficient and effective planning out of all warehouse resources and activities to facilitate business requirements
Works closely with customers to understand business requirements and ensure that service requests are facilitated in an effectual manner
Ensures that inbound stock is delivered as per the order requirements and products are received, unloaded and assembled as per the guidelines
Ensures that periodic stock counts (cycle and year-end) are conducted efficiently to ensure accuracy between book and physical count
Conducts periodic reviews to ensure that methods used within the Warehouse function are in line with the established guidelines and procedures
Identifies the stocks that are in the warehouse for long time and bring it to the attention of the senior management and stock control function
Ensures prompt and immediate action on stock discrepancies and manages overages, shortages, damages and rejected materials cases on time and in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
Ensures accuracy of inbound/ outbound documentation (stock transfers, purchase returns, goods invoices, etc.)
Develops and implements systems in managing data that relate to warehouse activities to ensure record accuracy
Prepares periodic reports to the senior management related to warehouse activities, and presents statistical information to facilities decision making
Ensures compliance to all statutory norms regarding warehouse operation
People Management:
Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective implementation of the performance management process
Develops talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to achieve the defined goals
Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the Business Unit/ Department by providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs and coaching the employees on the areas of improvement
About the requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management
Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred
A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience with at least 4-5 years in warehousing and supply chain preferably in the retail industry
