Role Context
The Design Expert contributes senior-level product judgment to AI evaluation projects by creating
realistic tasks that reflect how experienced designers and AI-assisted developers work in practice. Contributors may focus on the Design track, the Vibecoding track, or both. The role combines rapid experimentation, UX decision-making, design systems, prototyping and AI-assisted software development to help distinguish thoughtful product work from generic or template-driven outputs.
Key Responsibilities
* Create realistic evaluation scenarios involving product design, UX/UI, rapid prototyping and iterative development.
* Develop tasks that test how AI systems respond to ambiguous product requirements and design constraints.
* Create scenarios involving collaboration between product designers, engineers and product stakeholders.
* Build Design-track assignments using Figma, Framer and other prototyping or design-system platforms.
* Develop Vibecoding tasks involving AI-assisted software development and natural-language-to-code workflows.
* Create evaluation activities using tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, v0 and Replit.
* Apply prompt-driven development techniques to produce realistic AI-assisted prototyping scenarios.
* Design tasks involving early concept exploration, product iteration and rapid experimentation.
* Develop scenarios covering design systems, component libraries and reusable interface patterns.
* Create reference prototypes that demonstrate the expected quality and functionality of senior-level work.
* Produce code artifacts where required for AI-assisted development evaluation.
* Prepare design specifications that clearly communicate interaction, layout and component requirements.
* Develop usability evaluation reports and structured findings based on realistic product scenarios.
* Apply human-centered design principles when creating tasks and reference outputs.
* Incorporate user research findings and usability constraints into evaluation scenarios.
* Design heuristic evaluation tasks that require informed product and UX judgment.
* Create assignments requiring thoughtful prioritization between usability, feasibility and product objectives.
* Develop detailed evaluation rubrics capable of distinguishing senior-level design judgment from generic solutions.
* Define measurable acceptance criteria for design quality, usability, implementation and product reasoning.
* Evaluate whether AI-generated outputs demonstrate coherent design rationale and appropriate product decisions.
* Identify weak interaction patterns, inconsistent design-system usage and poor usability decisions.
* Review AI-assisted code and prototype outputs for alignment with intended product experience.
* Ensure tasks reflect realistic workflows used by modern product and design teams.
* Collaborate with project teams to refine task scope, difficulty and evaluation standards.
* Incorporate reviewer feedback while maintaining realistic senior-level expectations.
* Maintain consistency between task instructions, reference artifacts and grading criteria.
* Contribute to evolving evaluation methodologies for AI-assisted design and development.

Ideal Profile
* Minimum 5 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, design leadership or AI-assisted software development is preferred.
* Demonstrated ownership of shipped digital products, design systems or AI-assisted development workflows.
* Experience working at a product-focused company, design-led organization, startup or notable independent product.
* Strong practical expertise in product design and user experience decision-making.
* Advanced proficiency with Figma is highly valuable.
* Experience with Framer or comparable interactive prototyping tools.
* Familiarity with design-system platforms and reusable component libraries.
* Strong understanding of rapid prototyping and iterative product development.
* Direct experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, v0 or Replit is valuable for Vibecoding contributors.
