Role Context
The Arabic and Islamic Teacher will plan and deliver well-structured lessons that support Arabic language development, Islamic knowledge, student confidence, and positive character building. The role contributes to classroom learning, student wellbeing, parent communication, curriculum delivery, assessment, and the school’s wider aim of nurturing learners through inclusive and high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inspiring Arabic and Islamic Studies lessons that support student achievement and personal development.
* Plan, prepare, and present sessions that meet curriculum expectations and suit different ability levels.
* Create a positive classroom environment with suitable learning resources, displays, and structured routines.
* Support students in developing Arabic language skills, Islamic understanding, respectful behaviour, and confidence.
* Use inclusive and imaginative teaching strategies to motivate pupils and encourage active participation.
* Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
* Build positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, curriculum support staff, and the wider school community.
* Observe and assess students in line with school assessment expectations and learning standards.
* Use assessment data to guide planning, intervention, and student progress support.
* Take responsibility for student progress, wellbeing, engagement, and classroom learning experience.
* Promote independence, self-control, respect, leadership, and positive attitudes toward learning.
* Follow the school behaviour policy and manage classes using approaches appropriate to students’ needs.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievement, progress, and wellbeing.
* Liaise with support professionals where required to help students access learning successfully.
* Embed Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout classroom practice.
* Support school events, outings, activities, curriculum action groups, and wider community initiatives when required.
* Uphold safeguarding expectations, school policies, professional conduct, and Aldar Education standards at all times.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Education, or a related subject.
* PGCE or another recognised teacher qualification preferred.
* Teaching experience in an American curriculum, primary, charter school, or international school setting preferred.
* Strong knowledge of Arabic language teaching and Islamic Studies curriculum expectations.
* Ability to teach in an inspiring, inclusive, and age-appropriate way.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, teachers, and school leaders.
* Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
* Reflective teaching approach with the ability to adapt planning and classroom practice based on student progress.
* High level of professionalism with strong consideration for student wellbeing.
* Respectful and inclusive attitude toward all members of the school community.
* Positive, flexible, and solution-focused approach to school life.
* Police clearance, satisfactory references, and safeguarding checks required for appointment.
