Role Context
The Asset Integrity Inspection Engineer is responsible for protecting operational reliability by planning and executing inspection activities for plant equipment, piping, and facilities using advanced non-destructive examination methods. The role supports production continuity, maintenance planning, and risk reduction by ensuring equipment integrity, accurate inspection reporting, and timely corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare inspection plans and schedules based on historical data, risk-based inspection studies, and plant operational requirements
* Coordinate with Plant Availability Division to arrange scaffolding, insulation removal, cranes, and other support required for inspection activities
* Perform and recommend suitable non-destructive testing methods in line with applicable engineering codes and standards
* Report inspection findings, abnormalities, and technical recommendations with detailed checklists, assembly drawings, and defect sketches
* Raise and review maintenance work orders for corrective and preventive actions based on inspection results
* Verify completion of maintenance activities and close work orders after confirming job execution
* Coordinate material analysis, hardness testing, coating thickness checks, and ferrite testing for spares, assemblies, and fabricated components
* Inspect reconditioned parts, modification works, new installations, piping systems, and equipment before final reporting
* Review final quality control dossiers submitted by contractors and ensure compliance with required inspection standards
* Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies for specialized inspection assignments and contractor inspection services
* Prepare Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ) documentation
* Witness welder qualification tests and prepare welder certification records for approval by Asset Integrity teams
* Conduct technical evaluations and prepare inspection scopes, checklists, and contractor coordination plans for external inspection projects
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent discipline
* Minimum 8 years of experience in inspection, risk-based inspection studies, WPS, and WPQ within the oil and gas industry
* Strong knowledge of non-destructive testing methods and asset integrity management systems
* Experience with RBI studies, welding inspections, and inspection planning for static and rotating equipment
* Good understanding of international inspection codes, standards, and quality assurance requirements
* Experience coordinating third-party inspection agencies and contractor inspection activities
* Strong analytical and reporting skills for technical defect analysis and maintenance recommendations
* Commitment to HSE compliance and operational safety standards
* Ability to manage inspection priorities in live plant environments
