Biology Teacher - Secondary Science

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
* Teach GCSE and A Level Biology using accurate, current and detailed subject knowledge.
* Translate complex biological concepts into clear and engaging learning experiences.
* Set ambitious academic expectations and encourage every student to work toward high performance.
* Design lesson sequences that build scientific understanding, analytical thinking and examination confidence.
* Conduct practical investigations in accordance with laboratory safety procedures and curriculum requirements.

* Monitor attainment and progress through classwork, practical work, homework and formal examinations.

Ideal Profile

* Bachelor of Education or a relevant degree supported by PGCE, PGDE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Minimum 2 years of experience teaching the National Curriculum for England.
* Strong academic and practical knowledge of Biology.
* Proven record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching.
* Experience teaching Biology at GCSE level.
* Ability to teach A Level Biology effectively.
* Thorough understanding of examination specifications, assessment objectives and grading expectations.
* Strong belief that students of different starting points can achieve excellent academic outcomes.
* Ability to inspire high levels of effort, curiosity and independent learning.
