Key Responsibilities
* Teach Chemistry lessons that develop scientific understanding, practical laboratory skills, analytical thinking, and confidence in applying key concepts.
* Deliver the British curriculum with a clear focus on student progress, examination success, and high-quality classroom learning.
* Prepare students for Chemistry at A Level through structured teaching, practical experiments, revision support, and assessment-based intervention.
* Create engaging learning experiences that connect Chemistry with real-world science, medicine, sustainability, engineering, research, and future STEM careers.
* Use assessment data, classroom feedback, and student performance evidence to improve achievement and close learning gaps.
* Maintain a safe and well-managed science classroom and laboratory environment in line with school health and safety standards.
* Share effective teaching strategies with colleagues and contribute positively to science department planning and development.
* Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to support academic growth, wellbeing, and confidence.
* Encourage curiosity, independent learning, problem-solving, and practical scientific enquiry inside and outside the classroom.

Ideal Profile
* B.Ed, Bachelor’s degree in Science with PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification in Chemistry.
* Proven experience teaching Chemistry to A Level within a British curriculum or international school environment.
* Excellent Chemistry subject knowledge with the ability to explain complex scientific ideas clearly and creatively.
* Strong record of delivering outstanding teaching and learning through effective planning, assessment, and classroom practice.
* Creative and enthusiastic teaching style with the ability to motivate students across different ability levels.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
* Commitment to safeguarding, professional development, student wellbeing, and high academic expectations.
