The Classroom Assistant helps pupils participate successfully in learning by providing practical academic, social, emotional, and physical support throughout the school day. The position also contributes to classroom organisation and student wellbeing by monitoring progress, preparing resources, supporting behaviour expectations, maintaining pupil records, and liaising with teachers and specialist professionals when required. Key Responsibilities
* Support individual pupils and small groups inside and outside the classroom during the school day.
* Help students participate fully in academic, social, physical, and school-based activities.
* Provide individual instruction and group support according to directions provided by the class teacher.
* Demonstrate instructional activities and reinforce concepts introduced during lessons.
* Monitor assigned classwork and provide appropriate assistance while pupils complete tasks.
* Check and correct pupil work in progress within the guidance established by the teacher.
* Help pupils remain focused, organised, and engaged during learning activities.
* Reinforce positive achievement and communicate observations about student progress to teaching staff.
* Assist with the implementation of individual education programmes for pupils or groups requiring additional support.
* Monitor student development and provide relevant observations to teachers and support professionals.
* Support pupils experiencing emotional, behavioural, social, or additional learning needs.
* Encourage development of confidence, independence, cooperation, and appropriate social skills.
* Supervise pupils within classrooms and other designated areas of the school.
* Reinforce behaviour expectations in accordance with the school\'s established policies.
* Support appropriate responses to misbehaviour while promoting positive self-esteem and respectful conduct.
* Assist class teachers with maintaining accurate pupil records and relevant classroom documentation.
