Job Overview
The Corporate Head of Behaviour and Attendance will define the group-wide strategy, provide school-level support, lead training and professional development programs, and ensure effective data systems are in place to monitor and improve behaviour and attendance outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior education leaders, principals, and pastoral teams, while also representing GEMS in external networks.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a unified vision and strategic framework for behaviour and attendance
* Ensure group-wide consistency while accommodating individual school contexts
* Design inclusive policies and guidelines aligned with global best practices
* Support schools directly through reviews, audits, and targeted interventions
* Deliver training to pastoral leaders, heads of year, and attendance teams
* Collect, analyse, and interpret behaviour and attendance data from all GEMS schools
* Develop systems to flag trends, risks, and areas for improvement
* Promote shared accountability and a positive culture across the GEMS school network
* Collaborate with external agencies as needed to support student well-being
* Represent GEMS Education in educational networks and professional forums
Job Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Childhood Psychology, or related field
* At least 15 years of experience in education, with senior leadership in behaviour and attendance
* Proven success developing cross-school policy and influencing pastoral culture
* Deep knowledge of behaviour strategies, attendance systems, and intervention models
* Skilled in using data and impact metrics to drive school-wide improvements
* Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities
Desirable Skills
* Experience in international schools or multicultural environments
* Understanding of GEMS Education’s operational structure and ethos
* Advanced qualifications in leadership, inclusion, or student support services
