Role Context
The Cycle 2 Teacher will be responsible for delivering inspiring classroom lessons, managing learning resources, assessing student progress, and supporting the academic and personal development of pupils. The role contributes to the school’s mission of providing high-quality learning opportunities in a sustainable, innovative, and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students and support strong learning outcomes.
* Plan, prepare, and present classroom sessions that meet curriculum expectations.
* Work with fellow teachers to design learning activities that support different ability levels.
* Organise classroom resources, displays, and learning areas to create an engaging environment.
* Use enthusiastic and imaginative teaching methods to motivate pupils and encourage participation.
* Observe and assess students in line with school assessment procedures.
* Use assessment data and Target Tracker to guide planning, intervention, and student support.
* Take responsibility for the progress, wellbeing, and classroom experience of assigned students.
* Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
* Communicate with parents and carers about student progress, achievement, and wellbeing.
* Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff where applicable to support children’s development.
* Liaise with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
* Reflect on classroom provision, lessons delivered, and student progress to improve planning and teaching practice.
* Promote positive behaviour, self-control, independence, and respect among learners.
* Follow school policies, behaviour expectations, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards.
* Support school events, curriculum activities, and wider community initiatives when required.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related subject with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching in a primary, Cycle 2, American curriculum, or international school environment preferred.
* Clear understanding of curriculum planning, classroom provision, assessment, and student development.
* Ability to plan engaging lessons for students with different learning needs and abilities.
* Strong communication skills with students, parents, teachers, and school leaders.
* Positive and collaborative approach to working within a teaching team.
* Reflective teaching style with the ability to adapt planning and classroom practice.
* Passion for educating the whole child and supporting student wellbeing.
* Respectful attitude toward all members of the school community.
* Professional, punctual, organised, and committed to high standards.
* Ability to support inclusive learning and work with external professionals where needed.
* Police clearance, satisfactory references, and safeguarding checks required for appointment.
