Key Responsibilities
* Teach English and Drama lessons that support literacy, creativity, communication, performance, and analytical thinking.
* Deliver engaging British curriculum learning experiences across relevant key stages with clear planning and high expectations.
* Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking, listening, interpretation, stage presence, and expressive confidence.
* Plan lessons that include literature study, creative writing, script work, performance activities, discussion, and reflective learning.
* Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide timely support to help students improve achievement.
* Create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to participate, perform, collaborate, and share ideas.
* Use varied teaching strategies to meet the needs of different learners and support academic and personal growth.
* Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to strengthen curriculum planning, student engagement, and department development.
* Contribute to school productions, drama showcases, literary activities, extracurricular programmes, and community events.
* Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues while supporting wellbeing, safeguarding, and school values.
Ideal Profile
* B.Ed, degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification in English, Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
* Experience teaching English and/or Drama within a British curriculum or international school environment.
* Strong subject knowledge in English language, literature, drama, performance, creative communication, and classroom practice.
* Ability to deliver inspiring lessons that improve student confidence, literacy, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
* Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching inside and outside the classroom.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, teachers, and school leaders.
* Strong classroom management, planning, assessment, and differentiation skills.
* Interest in career growth, professional development, and contributing to a growing international school.
* Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, student wellbeing, and high standards of teaching and learning.
