Role Context
The ERPNext Developer will own the technical evolution and functional reliability of a business-critical enterprise platform. The position connects operational requirements with maintainable ERP solutions that improve process control, reporting accuracy, user experience, and decision-making.
Success requires more than writing code. The developer must understand how departments work, translate business challenges into ERPNext configurations or custom applications, and ensure that each release is secure, documented, tested, and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
* Customize and extend ERPNext modules through the Frappe Framework using Python, JavaScript, Jinja, and MariaDB.
* Design custom applications, DocTypes, workflows, client scripts, server scripts, print formats, and validation rules.
* Build dashboards, analytical reports, and role-based views that provide relevant operational information.
* Diagnose application issues, improve performance, manage patches, and maintain compatibility during upgrades.
* Apply coding practices that support long-term maintenance, system stability, and controlled deployment.
The developer will engage directly with business teams to understand their processes and convert requirements into practical ERP solutions.
* Map workflows across HR, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Inventory, Procurement, Sales, CRM, Projects, Operations, and Academics.
* Configure roles, permissions, notifications, approval chains, document types, and automated actions.
* Conduct gap analysis and recommend process improvements that align with ERPNext capabilities.
* Lead user acceptance testing and ensure defects are resolved before production release.
* Deliver user training and prepare clear functional guidance for system users.
* Manage ERPNext deployments, bench operations, database migrations, backups, patches, and version upgrades.
* Protect data integrity through appropriate access controls, validation, monitoring, and security practices.
* Coordinate with infrastructure teams on hosting environments, server availability, Nginx configuration, and deployment requirements.
* Develop REST API integrations with attendance devices, payment gateways, portals, and other third-party platforms.
* Configure webhooks, scheduled jobs, and automation scripts to remove repetitive manual work.
* Maintain Git repositories and controlled release practices for custom development.
Documentation will form part of every implementation. The developer will prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, software requirement specifications, standard operating procedures, configuration logs, technical notes, and release records.
Ideal Profile
Applicants must hold a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and have 3-5 years of hands-on experience with ERPNext and the Frappe Framework.
Proven involvement in ERP implementations for medium-sized or large organizations is required. The preferred candidate will understand both application development and the business processes supported by HR, Payroll, Finance, Inventory, Procurement, Sales, CRM, Projects, and Operations modules.
Experience with the ERPNext Education module will be an advantage. A portfolio or GitHub profile demonstrating custom applications, module extensions, integrations, or other ERPNext work is highly preferred.
