Role Context
The Head of Arabic A - Curriculum Leadership will provide strategic and instructional direction for the Arabic language department. The position will help define subject priorities, strengthen teaching quality and ensure that curriculum planning, self-evaluation and resource management support sustained improvements in student attainment and progress.
Key Responsibilities
* Shape a clear and ambitious vision for Arabic A teaching and learning.
* Work with the CEO, Principals and Vice Principal for Arabic to establish the strategic direction of the subject.
* Set high expectations for curriculum delivery, classroom practice and student achievement.
* Lead the development of subject aims, priorities and measurable academic objectives.
* Contribute significantly to the formulation and implementation of the School Development Plan.
* Translate whole-school priorities into practical Arabic language improvement initiatives.
* Monitor student attainment and progress across year groups.
* Use performance evidence to identify strengths, learning gaps and improvement priorities.
* Lead Arabic self-review and departmental evaluation activities.
* Support the preparation of accurate evidence for internal reviews and school inspections.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum planning, teaching methods and assessment practices.
* Develop action plans that address identified areas for improvement.
* Monitor the implementation and impact of departmental development actions.
* Guide teachers in delivering consistent, challenging and inclusive Arabic instruction.
* Promote effective differentiation for students with varied abilities and learning needs.

Ideal Profile
* Recognised degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education or a related discipline.
* Appropriate teaching qualification or professional teaching certification.
* Proven experience teaching Arabic A in a school environment.
* Previous responsibility as a Head of Department, subject leader or curriculum coordinator.
* Strong knowledge of Arabic curriculum design, assessment and instructional practice.
* Demonstrated success in improving student achievement and academic progress.
